Highlights of this project include a new 3-story Surgery Center addition, along with 30,000 square feet of renovation to the surgical support area of the existing hospital, which was to be constructed in 4 phases. The new addition consisted of one floor of operating rooms with a sterile core, one floor of surgical support areas, and one floor of lobby, mechanical, and electrical rooms. Renovated areas included PACU, Pre-OP and Post-Op, Endoscopy, Bronchio, and support areas.
Zenith installed a new double ended substation fed from existing hospital 4160V equipment to power the new construction and renovated areas. Emergency distribution power was fed from an existing paralleling switchgear. Both feeders for the 4160V and emergency power were connected to the new addition from the other side of the hospital via a 500’ directional bore duct bank, approximately 15’ under the existing hospital. New automatic transfer switches and UPS were provided, along with a battery inverter for the (8) operating room surgical lighting systems.
